First monument to a woman of science in Italy.
The sculpture depicts Margherita Hack emerging from the material of her study, a galaxy and through her hands she gazes at the sky. It has no pedestal to affirm the idea of a monument without distances and elevations. I believe that the sculpture must be in continuity with the place in which it is inserted. It is a craft that must be part of society and should prompt refelction on a fundamental aspect of our times, such ad the concept of brotherhood/sisterhood, we are all part of this world, and as Hack used to say, we are all born from the stars.
