Curated by Valentina Rossi and Francesca Zanella
The work originated from an invitation to take part in CSAC Parma’s project Storie di fili (“Stories of Threads”), which brought artists into dialogue with the institution’s archives in order to give them new life. Curated by Valentina Rossi and Francesca Zanella, the initiative provided the framework for a process of research and transformation.
Within this context, the garment is reimagined as a wearable sculpture through the artist’s study and reworking of documents preserved in the CSAC fashion archives, relating to three major Italian women— Cinzia Ruggeri, Krizia and Brunetta. These materials became the point of departure for the creation of three sculptural garments, each translating archival traces into a new, embodied form.
Developed over the course of two years, the project was ultimately presented in an exhibition at Palazzo Pecorini in Parma, curated by Valentina Rossi. It also led to the artist’s book Abitolario (ed.Il Poligrafo) and a related performance staged in 2022.
